The MAKANI Halalua fin is inspired by the latest development in aeronautics and is designed to replace freerace and slalom fins when weed fins are necessary. The rake is kept at a minimum angle so weeds don’t stick and at the same time keep stunning upwind ability. The wider chord closer to the board gives you power for early planning and the same profile characteristic of a slalom fin for amazing speed. Had my first ride of the season, and first ride on a Makani fin.  Exocet 62 slalom board and KA Koyote 5.3  18-23 MPH wind.

Very Nice!  I felt out of shape and klunky but the fin felt thin and smooth. I didnt have to push so hard to rail the board as usual with a weed fin.  I liked the way it felt with my rear foot right in front of the rear straps and getting going.  Top speed 28.9mph.  Wait till I get in shape and get wound up on this fin.  Looking forward to trying the 28 on my smaller board.
