Description

KAKU - Maximize your waves

The MAKANI Kaku fin is a wave fin designed for less than perfect onshore wave conditions. The larger base makes going upwind a breeze. The unique profile derived from slalom fins is fast and keeps you planning so you can easily jump the nasty breakers. The Flex tip keeps you in control when choppy waves come from different directions simultaneously. The nicely swept back leading edge lets you surf with confidence and comfort. G-10 construction for a long lasting fin that won’t let you down even if you crash on the beach after an exhausting session! Our Kaku fin is the solution for real world wave riding.

KAKU 26 San Carlos February 10, 2012
Reviewer: Neil from San Carlos, Mexico
I work for Solosports in Baja (San Carlos) and help out with Wyatt and Tysons business in Ventana in the winter. Wyatt let me try the 26cm KaKu fin on my Tabou Pocket Wave 93 and it absolutely changed the board.

It is normally a Tri-fin set-up and that is ok but only for true wave spots. When I put the 26cm on it came alive down here. I use it for 5.7 and 5.3 and it is amazing. I am going to try the 24cm hopefully today with a 5… See All
btw I put plugs in the side fin boxes for this set-up

Kaku 24 September 2, 2011

Kaku 24 cm March 14, 2011

What impressed me the most with my new Makani fins is how fast they are. My boad stays crisp and light and that helps my jumping. My boards equipped with the kaku fins are fast on a planning. Long life to Makani and congradulations for your dynamism and your innovations.

Kaku 20 cm October 30, 2010

I could not believe the difference vs. the stock fin. Comparing the Makani 20cm to my stock  21cm. The base is wider on the Makani, just a few degree straighter at the base, then taper the same way to the tip. Tracks upwind much better, much smoother ride, much faster (nice glide feel to it), just as turny. The only minus would be harder to slide because much harder to spin out. And best of all it's Canadian!
