A Keen lover of wind and waves, MakaniFins team rider Gina Bihn first took the plunge into the world of kitesurfing in 2010 when she was staying in Tarifa, learning Spanish.

"I saw all the guys in the water and wanted to learn it” comments Gina, "Since the first time I got in the water I was addicted to it!”

Since taking up kitesurfing Gina has gone on to compete in the 2011 and 2012 Kite Trophy in Fehmarn (Germany) and the KTE event at Brouwersdam (Netherlands). At the Kitesurf Trophy 2014 (German championship) she finished 3rd. She has even progressed to become a professional instructor, and has also added windsurfing to her skill set.

"I started windsurfing last year. Sometimes when I was traveling with Windsurfers I'd take the surfboard to stay with them on the water.”

One of the things that attracts Gina to the action sports world at large is the travel and exploration elements, and claims her favorite spot is Dakhla in Western Sahara. "Because of the perfect conditions and the friendly people” adding "I love traveling and learning more about foreign cultures”.
