About Surfrider Foundation Vancouver

We are the Vancouver chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, a global environmental non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of oceans, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.

History

Founded in southern California in the early eighties, Surfrider Foundation started with a couple of surfers concerned about the possible destruction of their favourite wave, and has grown to a global network of chapters that believe global challenges can be addressed with local grassroots action.

We’re more than just surfers. We’re beach and ocean enthusiasts of all stripes, who share a common vision of healthy oceans and coastlines that are accessible for all people for generations to come.

In the Community

We play an active role in the Vancouver community through outreach and education programs. We create opportunities for activism on issues of ocean and coastal pollution.
